2027: Group calls for strategic action for national rebirth

A coalition on the aegis of I-Vote Movement has called for strategic actions for national rebirth ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Founder and convener of the group, Prince Adebola Adekoya, while speaking with journalists at a press conference in Abuja, weekend, said: “When the taste of palm wine changes, it is expected that the drinking pattern should also change but the situation in Nigerian politics remains the same.”

He noted that in 2027, the youth should take their destinies in their own hands, saying they would speak for them if they don’t speak for themselves. He however said the I-Vote Movement at the moment has not aligned with any political party yet as the coalition awaits the party that will suit the group’s interest and aspiration.

Adekoya however urged the youth to look at themselves as the strategic vehicles for the expected national rebirth.

Also speaking, a major stakeholder of the coalition, Ishaya Durkwa said it’s high time Nigerians act fast if they would have access to the hyped dividends of democracy the politicians promise the citizens.

He called for a people-oriented leadership that will embody a better approach to the efforts to alleviate the suffering of the common man as the 2027 general election draws near.

“The young people are taking position and they will come from the nooks and crannies of Nigeria to register their commitment to join forces in building a new Nigeria where the welfare of Nigerians is considered over and above all, where coalition will not be about the name dropping or the faces in ADC but about the issues bedeviling the nation,” he said..

A co-convener, Sam Odeh, emphatically stated that the movement is not endorsing any political party yet but laying the foundation for a new electoral order driven by integrity, competence and accountability.
