Ahead of the 2027 elections, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced the introduction of an electronic membership registration platform for members and intending members.
Ganduje while speaking in Abuja over the weekend at a dinner organised in his honour by the National Agenda for Tinubu (NAFT) 2027, stated that APC would be more active in the electioneering process, adding that all necessary materials had been procured and training was underway.
“We are introducing electronic membership registration. We already have the equipment, we are testing them, and training those who will carry out the electronic registration.
“All our offices must be physically habitable and functionally operational. Our party should be active throughout the year, and this is one of the products of that resolution”. he added.
Meanwhile, Ganduje lauded various initiatives of the Tinubu-led administration in revamping the economy, hence called for the support of all Nigerians to ensure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
He, however, cited reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), various infrastructural development across the nation, introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, and the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development, among others aimed at revamping the economy.
“There’s no doubt our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, deserves this recognition. He deserves this support, he deserves everything other associations are doing for him, and he deserves the national support he is receiving from across the country.
“Asiwaju deserves a national agenda for 2027. When we assumed office as members of the APC National Working Committee, we resolved that business would not continue as usual.”
Also speaking, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, commended President Tinubu’s initiatives in revamping the economy, stating that, with the current progress, the 2027 election is already a “walkover.”
“We know that for reforms to take effect, there is temporary pain. But today, we’ve started seeing the benefits. And I stand to testify to that fact. Your Excellency, I have no doubt that the 2027 election is already a walkover.”
Jandor also expressed optimism about more defections to the ruling party, assuring that all hands will be on deck to ensure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“If people like me, Jandor, are returning home from the opposition, then what is left of the opposition in Nigeria has already collapsed.
“I want to assure you that we will use everything God has given us our energy, our knowledge, and our commitment as young people—to ensure that Mr. President succeeds in 2027, so he can pass the baton to us, the next generation,” he added.
The Director-General of the Progressive Institute (TPI), Dr. Olanrewaju Adebayo, also commended the leadership of the National Chairman and the commitment of the APC leadership to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and supporting President Tinubu’s bold policies.
Adebayo disclosed that the Institute is set to organize a mid-term review of the government to evaluate how far the party has implemented its manifestos and objectives.
