Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has said the team remained confident and in support with the vision of head coach, Eric Chelle.
Osayi who also expressed the team’s trust in Chelle, described him as a fantastic coach, adding, “I am at home with his philosophy.”
According to him, “For me, the coach is fantastic. The way he wants us to press and run; I think everyone in the team is aligned to his ideas.”
The Super Eagles defender stated these while speaking with journalists in Benin City, Edo state, during his visit for a youth football tournament he sponsored.
He expressed strong belief that Nigeria still stood a good chance of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite a shaky start to the Group C qualifiers.
Osayi recalled the team’s recent performance against a strong opponent as evidence of progress.
He noted, “The aim is just to win every single game. We believe in our team.
“Of course, it will be difficult, but for us and the team, I think we have a good chance,” he added.
