Former Nigerian envoy to Canada, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has assured the people that the political firmament of Ekiti state would witness positive change the moment he secures the mandate of his African Democratic Party (ADC).

Bejide, who was a pioneer secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Ekiti state, said he left  PDP because it has been hijacked by  ‘bad boys’ and no one wants to wrestle with  the pig, adding that people from various political parties are now coming into ADC fold in droves.

However, the Peoples Democratic Movement Caucus within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti state, had earlier unanimously endorsed Bejide  as its preferred governorship aspirant for the forthcoming election.

Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, weekend, Ambassador Bejide said: “In the All Progressives Congress (APC) as well, democracy has taken flight. Everyone wants where democracy can flourish. In ADC, we are going to conduct a transparent primary. And I know all other parties cannot do it. We will not impose and we are talking to people. They will join us.”

On his 66th birthday, Ambassador Bejide, who couldn’t hide his joy, appreciated God for the gift of life, adding that each year added to his age is a reminder that he has a lot to offer the good people of Ekiti.

He also called for responsive governance and urged Ekiti residents to take their destiny in their hands by voting for the right of candidate come 2026 governorship election and not be blindfolded by the fairy tales of the current political dispensation in the state.
