Victor Osimhen has berated the treatment meted out to Super Eagles players and officials by Libyan authorities.

The Super Eagles are in Libya for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter against the Mediterranean Knights.

The players and their officials were however, held stranded at the Al Abaq Airport several hours after landing in Libya.

Their plane was diverted to Al Abaq on Sunday night by Libyan authorities.

The contingent were also denied assess hotel accommodation, food, drink and Internet facilities by their hosts.

The players have already resolved to boycott the game.

“I am disappointed by the unfair treatment my brothers and coaches are facing at the Libya airport last night,”Osimhen wrote on Instagram.

“Actions like this go against the spirit of sportsmanship. My support is with my team and I know they’ll stay strong despite these obstacles.

“I call on CAF and other football bodies to intervene, as my teammates and officials are still stranded at the airport in Libya. This is uncalled for and inhumane. We stand together, together than ever.”
