Nigeria’s four representatives in the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will play their home games in just two approved stadiums — the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released its updated list of approved venues, showing Nigeria far behind rivals in hosting capacity. South Africa tops the chart with 13 stadiums, followed by Morocco (10), Algeria (9), and Ivory Coast (6).
This restriction means Rivers United, Remo Stars, Kwara United, and Abia Warriors will share the two Nigerian venues for continental fixtures.
CAF’s stadium approval process evaluates pitch quality, lighting, dressing rooms, security, and broadcast facilities, barring any venue that falls short.
Key Fixtures:
Champions League: Remo Stars vs US Zilimadjou (Comoros), Rivers United vs DR Congo opposition (TBD)
Confederation Cup: Kwara United vs Asante Kotoko (Ghana), Abia Warriors vs Djoiiba (Mali)
