A governorship aspirant in the Edo state September governorship poll, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (rtd.) has said 2024 holds a very important place in the democratic development of the state, and also a decision year for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said, “As a state and a people, we cannot afford a repeat of the mistake we made before. And, I have presented myself as the best; the best, the best candidate!”
The aspirant made the remark in a New Year message addressed to all APC members in the state.
He reiterated that winning the year’s governorship election is a task that must be done, adding that only the best aspirant like him could bring victory about.
Airhiavbere urged the party to pray that its leaders come to a very decision by doing the right thing to avoid a repeat of the past, which in seven years had seen Edo in agony.
He stated that he was inspired by the compelling need to provide leadership that would bring to an end the seven years of “agony in our state, and together, implement my PIE programme for the Peace, Infrastructural development and Economic prosperity of our state.”
Airhiavbere added that in his resolve to be the next gubernatorial candidate of the party, he would soon continue his tour of the additional local government areas in the state, to drive home his message that only the best is good enough for Edo APC.
