The National Coordinator SERVICOM Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli has said the agency is focused on improving service delivery in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in 2024.

Akajemeli made the commitment during the end of the year meeting/awards ceremony of the National Council of SERVICOM Nodal Officers across various Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) recently in Abuja.

According to the National Coordinator, “We are here to have the last meeting for the year and in this meeting, we will be presenting a scorecard of what we have done the activities of the year in terms of our key operational activities to let our stakeholders and Nigerians know what we have achieved for the year.”

While addressing the Council, Akajemeli said, “as part of SERVICOM’s method of raising and praising individuals, service providers from organizations we have inculcated the culture of rewarding and celebrating service excellence in MDAs.”

This she said is to encourage healthy competition among the Ministerial Service Units by promoting its functionality/customer satisfaction.

Other objectives she explained, is to hold the government more accountable to the Nigerian citizens and to promote best practices in service delivery service wide, adding that it is what SERVICOM preaches hence it has to lead by example.

“We have three categories of awardees to include CEO’s who stand out in owning the process of service improvement and in committing to ensuring that people are served right.

“The Second category is for the Ministerial/Parastatal SERVICOM Units and the third category is the leadership and the personnel driving service improvements process as our foot soldiers,” she said.

In her goodwill message, Acting Director, Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement Department, Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, lauded SERVICOM awarding initiative saying there is need for change as “we are employed to serve as public servants.”

According to her, “this event is what we need as a people and as service providers so that we can motivate people as well as encourage those who do not take their services seriously in their respective MDAs.”
