The presidential flag bearer of the the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahamed Tinubu, has been described as the potential winner in the race for the presidency come 2023 general elections.
Addressing thousands of APC supporters in Kano last Saturday shortly after the formal commissioning of the party’s campaign offices in the state, the APC national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, stated that the APC presidential flag bearer was a time-tested political figure who had weathered the storm in the challenges of partisan politics.
According to him, the year 2023 would be a remarkable watershed for the party, as it is poised to win the elections from top to bottom in all the six geo-political zones in the country, affirming that the choice of the party in picking him to be its flag bearer in the most competitive presidential race was a pointer to his suitability for contesting the most revered seat in the country.
He said from all intents and purposes, the APC presidential flag bearer would have an appreciable edge over his rivals in the race, considering his spectacular exposure and pedigree which had given him the reverence he is currently enjoying and that his credible human persona has also portrayed him to stand tall among his peers.
He however stated that the APC presidential flag bearer is at an ample liberty to garner the support and the firm backing of the electorate in Kano being a widely acclaimed political melting pot which every presidential candidate is willing to secure stressing that neglecting Kano would be at a contestant own peril as one would miss the chance of winning the race.
He said, “We are here today, to formally commission our campaign offices in readiness for the 2023 elections which are almost around the corner with what we have seen on ground and the solidarity given to us, we are fully convinced that victory from top to bottom is within our reach. with Kano leading the vanguard, our candidate has no obstacle in actualizing his dream”.
In his remarks, the APC presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahamed Tinubu said putting the country on the right direction would be his major cardinal thrust and that he would stoutly be committed towards consolidating the feat if he was elected the president.
He said, “We will never regret what we are doing all along. we want serve humanity with vigour and commitment. I can only pray for you people to be blessed by God. I once again said, God bless you all. if we come on board in the year2023, women would have a fair share of the deal in terms of representation at all levels of governance and leadership.
“We are not here for a campaign, but setting the ball rolling at a preparatory stage. everyone of you should know that we are not going to rest on our oars until victory is attained.”
Speaking earlier, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated that the APC was on the road to winning the 2023 elections from top to bottom, given the formidable arrangement and the strategies put on ground pointing out that with its score card in the saddle of leadership, nothing would be left to chance in realizing the goal.
While in Kano, the APC Presidential candidate is billed to hold a meeting with the Ulama cutting across every sect, the business community, emirs in the five Kano emirates in addition to meeting stakeholders during his three-day visit to Kano.
