The Accord Party House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan Southwest and Northwest constituency, Chief Rotimi Ajanaku, Sunday tasked religious leaders in the country to spread the message of peace and unity at this critical time in Nigeria’s history
Chief Ajanaku made the remark in a statement he signed to felicitate with Muslims on this year’s Sallah celebrations.
He congratulated all Muslim across the nation for being alive to celebrate year 2023 Eid-El-Kabir festival.
Commending the spirit of togetherness, oneness and peaceful coexistence exhibited during the festivity, he added that it would was only in an atmosphere of peace devoid of political, ethnic and religious acrimony that Nigeria could achieve the desired greatness.
The Accord Party House of Representatives candidate emphasised that the time had come for all Ulamas to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir to spread the message of peace and unity especially at this critical time in Nigeria’s history where different interest groups were clamouring for disintegration of Nigeria.
While seizing the occasion to celebrate with the economically disadvantaged people of Oyo state, the Reps hopeful implored the well to-do and affluent Nigerians to support the less privileged in the society.
According to Chief Ajanaku, Eid El Kabir festivity ” is all about Holy sacrifice which can as well be achieved through giving to the needy.
He also prayed for all Muslims around the globe and especially in Nigeria”.
