2023: Elect only healthy, strong candidates, NNPP warns Nigerians

New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has charged Nigerians to go into Saturday’s election with an open mind to elect only candidates who are healthy and strong enough to go through the rigours of piloting the affairs of a country like Nigeria.

NNPP National Chairman, Prof. Rufai Alkali who said this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday said the party has presented a saleable candidate in the person of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Alkali said Kwankwaso is very prepared for the task of presiding over the country.

He described as wishful thinking the insinuations that the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Kwankwaso has agreed to step down for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

He said that the NNPP candidate has no reason to step down for anybody, describing him as the most qualified among all the other candidates angling to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Alkali who said the NNPP is the party to beat also claimed that the PDP has already been swallowed in Kano.

On the talk that Kwankwaso will be spoiling the chances of the PDP in Kano and parts of the North West said it is good for the old order to be spoiled so that Nigeria can move forward.

“We are ready to spoil their show of holding Nigeria down. We want to spoil it for them by winning the election and giving the country a new lease of life. The two leading parties, the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) never thought that a day like this will come when credible alternatives will be presented to Nigerians to choose from.

“This is election is a golden opportunity for Nigerians to choose their next president and we in the NNPP are confident that people will vote for capacity, character and competency. We must not vote in people that we will regret tomorrow. We must not vote for sick and old people.

“Yes, we all pray to grow old, we all cherish our old people, we also know that it is not a crime to be sick, but when you are sick, the first thing is to go and care of your health.”

He equally revealed that the NNPP will be rounding off its campaign rallies with a mega rally in Kaduna today, Thursday.
