2019: Ja’afar promises to reposition Nasarawa agriculture

A governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, Arc Mohammad Ja’afar Ibrahim, has pledged agricultural revolution for Nasarawa people, saying the farmers would particularly sell their produce across and outside the state.
Ja’afar gave the assurance yesterday in Obi when he paid a courtesy call on Osukwo of Obi in Obi local government area explaining that his administration would also introduce incentives that will lure more residents to engage in agriculture thereby creating more jobs and avenues for revenue generation.
“I will work tirelessly to see that agriculture is given a facelift in the state.
My focus is to create more jobs through agriculture and to ensure that we involve in more agricultural produce to take us to the top of food production and income generation,’ he said.
Ja’afar who is a serving House of Representatives member representing Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency, also assured that he would work to create conducive and secure environment where residents, irrespective of religion or tribe could work and live peacefully without fear or intimidation.
He said security will be given priority by his administration, noting that without sustainable peace, developing the state through agriculture and other viable sectors would be a mirage.
Responding, the Osukwo of Obi, Alhaji Aliyu Dangiwa-Orume appreciated the lawmaker for deeming it fit to visit his domain to pay him a courtesy call, urging him to put God first in anything he does “because leadership comes from God.
