2015: I have no ambition for now – Aliyu

DSC_0122Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger state yesterday said he had not declared any ambition for elective position in 2015 election.
He said the clarification became imperative in order to dismiss rumour that the he was either angling for the Vice Presidential slot or senatorial seat of the Niger East Senatorial district on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He spoke yesterday when a delegation from Shiroro and Lapai local government areas paid him a condolence visit over the death of Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta.

“I have not told anybody that I will contest in 2015. I have not told anybody what I want. I believe that as God did it for me in 2007 he will still determine what is good for me in 2015,” he said.
Aliyu appreciated the people for throwing their support behind him, saying “I am not the only politician in the area I am not the only knowledgeable person I thank you for your belief in me.”

He said government had directed traditional and religious leaders in the communities in the state to be wary of fake clerics parading the country describing such people as prophets of doom who are determined to cause crisis in the land.
He said the construction of the Shiroro Bridge which has been on the drawing board for decades before the intervention of the present administration would be completed in September, this year.
Earlier, the Emir of Lapai, Alhaji Umar Bago, and Alhaji Bashir Nuhu who spoke on behalf of the two delegations applauded the development strides of the government since it came on board in 2007.
