No fewer than 200 students of higher institutions from western senatorial district of Kogi are to benefit from 2014/2015 Senator Smart Adeyemi (SSA)annual scholarship award of N10 million.
Distributing the application forms yesterday to all the local government representative in Lokoja, the chairperson of disbursement committee, Mrs Joel E. Ebun, said the scholarship award would cover all the 85 wards that form the senatorial district and each student was to benefit the sum of N50, 000.
Chairperson of the committee further disclosed that the scholarship would be handled by Skye Bank, noting that it is a cashless in nature as beneficiaries wouldl only walk to the bank in any part of the country to cash the money using the Automotive Teller Machine (ATM) card that would be issue to them by the bank.
She advised the beneficiaries to work hard and bear it in mind that they must succeed in life so that they can give back to the society what the lawmaker has given them.
In his remarks, the secretary of the committee, Mr. Jelingo Alade Atimode, charged the applicants to fill the forms and submit to the council representatives on or before October 10, 2014, disclosing that the fund would be available for collection on October 23, 2014.
