The Provost, Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, Professor Alexander Kure, has tasked students to read hard while in school in order not resort to examination malpractices or end up as quacks.
The provost, who stated this during the matriculation ceremony of the 2018/2019 NCE students held at the permanent site of the institution. Gidan Waya, enjoined the students to shun the ugly practice of examination malpractice with passion.
Professor Kure who observed with dismay that examination malpractice has become the order of the day, however, said no society will fully develop its potentials if students especially, in tertiary institutions, depend on cheating to pass exams.
He noted with satisfaction that the college had produced over seventy five per cent of the teaching manpower in Kaduna state, aside from other fields of human endeavor across the country.
The provost reminded the matriculants that the institution was built on discipline with honesty, hard work and competition as its core values, hence the need for them to remain focused so as not to defeat the purpose of being in the school.
Professor Kure then expressed gratitude to the Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasiru Ahmad el-Rufa’i for what he described as tremendous effort which provided a secure and peaceful environment for academic activities to thrive.
