26 APC ward chairmen, coordinators, others defect to PDP in Bauchi

No fewer than 26 All Progressives Congress (APC) ward chairmen and coordinators of late Senator Ali Wakili and thousand of their supporters have defected to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The ward chairmen, who defected during a rally in Bagoro, were received by a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Wakili Nakwada.

According to the Assembly member, the defectors chose the right time to abandon the non-performing APC stressing that the ‘bad government’ of the APC was obvious for all to see.

He also said the ruling APC has no agenda for its citizens and therefore does not anyway show any sign of hope for the people.

“I was approached few days ago by the late Wakili’s 26 ward chairmen and coordinators in Bogoro LGA of Bauchi of their decision to join the PDP,” said Nakwada.

Further, he said defectors admitted that lack of justice in the APC adding that this among other things informed their defection to PDP.

Nakwada also stated that the defectors equally accused the APC of neglecting them since the death of Senator Wakili.

According to Nakwada, the decampees had vowed to mobilise 10,000 of their supporters to vote for PDP to bring the country back to its glory, while also lamenting the poverty under the APC government.

” I assure you of PDP support as we declare our desire to received you into the party’s fold today and we will carry you as along our members without any segregation,” declared Nakwada.

Joseph Daniel, who led the decampees, slammed APC for abandoning the late senator Wakili’s supporters in Bauchi State and went on to described the APC as a party that lacks the capacity and the credibility to further govern Nigeria.

“We were abandoned by the APC alongside 10,000 of our members since the demise of our amiable senator and we feel PDP is our choice and option to realize our political career,” said Daniel.

“If Nigerians want to end the current poverty, insecurity, unemployment and economic impoverishment, the only option is to ouster Buhari alongside his cabals”, he said.
