The Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has bagged a prestigious award on good governance at the 4th Annual General Meeting and Reunion of Alma Mater of Government Secondary School, Monguno (MOSSOSA).
The deputy governor, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, also bagged same award from the Government Secondary School, Monguno.
The meeting with the theme:”Reconnect, Reminisce, Reunite”, was held in Monguno town and attended by old students of the school from far and near despite security challenges in the area.
In his address, Governor Zulum praised the Monguno Government Secondary School Old Students Association (MOSSOSA) members for their unity and unwavering support for the growth and development of the school.
He assured the association of his continuous commitment to support the school’s progress and development as well as promote the school and its alumni.
The governor also noted that the reunion was aimed at rekindling the existing cordial working relationship, unity and affection among the school’s alumni while emphasising the importance of resilience and patriotism in fostering progress and development in the society.
The event was a celebration of the school’s alumni, with the governor, his deputy, and other members of the state executive council in attendance.
Highlights of the event include the official launching of the MOSSOSA emblem and the presentation of awards to Governor Zulum, his Deputy, and other members in recognition of their hard work, dedication, commitment, resilience , support and good governance in the state in the past six years or more.
