Ever since Governor Abdulaziz Yari assumed office in Zamfara state, he has vowed not to move along with the civil servants of the state, such that, for close to seven years on the seat, he has been at loggerheads with the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress over one issue or the other.
That saw the setting up of various verification committees aimed at identifying “ghost workers” from the inception of his administration in 2011. They include the Dan Sanda Maru Committee, 2011; Ahmed Abubakar Committee,2012; Garba Gajam Committee,2013; Ahmad Gusau Zabarma Committee, 2014/15; Bashar Hassan Committee, 2016; Dan Jari Kwatarkwashi Committee, 2017 and lastly, Mujtaba Isah’s Committee of last Sunday, November 5, 2017.
All these were only meant to deceive the workers who are hell-bent on seeing that the governor implements the N18,000 national minimum wage but which he has refused. What a deceit!
