Zamfara state government has said that plan is on top geared for the award of contract for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gusau-Dansadau-Birnin Gwari border, which is a federal government’s road, to China Zhonghao Nigeria Limited.
State deputy governor, who is also the chairman Finance and General Purpose Committee, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists shortly at the end of FGPC meeting in his yesterday.
The deputy governor said after intensive deliberations, the FGPC committee agreed to award for the renovation and reconstruction of 132.7 kilometre road to improve economic potential of the people of the area.
He also added that when completed, the road “will also link Zamfara state with neighbouring Kaduna, Niger and Kebbi state”.
Wakkala further hinted that contract would soon be awarded after reaching all the contractual agreement between the state, federal government and the construction company.
