Zamfara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described as falsehood and impersonation claim by former Minister of Information and Communications, Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, that he sponsored the construction of Jumaat Mosque at his home town, Bilbis, saying “it is part of the 200 mosques awarded by the federal government”.

Bilbis had, on the eve of his formal defection to APC, invited Governor Abdul’aziz Yari to commission the 500-capacity Jumaat mosque.
Reacting to the claim of the former minister on mosque project, a member of the state PDP committee, Alhaji Abdul-Hadi Yanware, accused Bilbis of falsehood and impersonation in the mosque project.

According to him, the mosque was among the 200 mosque projects initiated by the Jonathan administration along with Almajiri schools in the North.
He claimed that  Bilbis was a mere contractor of the project and therefore cannot lay claim to it.
Yanware said it was wrong for the former minister to initiate official commissioning of the mosque without the consent of the federal government, the initiator of the project.
