Zamfara: New SUBEB chair assumes office, pledges support for basic education

The chairman, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Nasiru Garba Anka, Wednesday, assumed office.

Prof. Anka, who pledged to revive basic education system, stated in an interview shortly after he assumed office that he would ensure that every child has access to basic education.

“The board under my watch will work assiduously to ensure our children get access to basic education and address the lingering challenges of out-of-school children,” he said.

Anka further stated that the board would partner with all development partners as well as the Ministry of Education to succeed.

“We welcome all development partners who are willing to support the state government for the development of education system in the state,” he said, adding that training and retraining of teachers under the board would be given top priority during his stewardship as chairman, with a view to achieving quality education.

“I will concentrate on rigorous training and retraining of our primary and secondary school teachers in order to have quality basic education in the state,” he said.
