The Zamfara state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has distributed year 2017/2018 and 2020/2021 WAEC/NECO certificates to various public secondary schools in the state.
Speaking during the event held at Zamfara teachers training center in Gusau, Tuesday, the state Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Wadatau Madawaki, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Barira Ibrahim, stated that the state government through the ministry was revamping the education system in the state.
The commissioner maintained that, the state government would remain committed to payment of WAEC and NECO examination fees to secondary school students every year.
According to him, the state government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal had eclared state of emergency on education, hence the need for every stakeholder to join hands and develop the sector.
He charged management of public secondary schools in the state to complement the state government’s efforts in ensuring prudence and transparency in the management of their respective schools.
In an opening remark, the state chairperson, senior secondary schools management board, Hajiya Hauwa K. Ibrahim, commended the state government for its readiness to develop the education system.
She assured that her board would always give the necessary support to the state government and the education ministry to revertalise the system in the state.
