Zamfara CP presents N23m cheque to family of deceased officers

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Bunu, has presented cheques worth N20 million to the family of deceased officers serving in the command.

This is contained in a statement made available to Blueprint signed by the command’s spokesman, Asp. Yazid Abubakar, Monday.

The statement said the CP. presented the cheque on behalf of the Inspector General of police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

“The cheque was presented to 21 next of kins of the officers who lost their lives in active service.”

The statement stated that the cheque issued was part of the Group Life Assurance/IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme of the Force.

He appreciated the IGP for his kind gesture and also urged the families of the deceased officers to judiciously use the money to take care of their families.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Abdulrahman Ahmed, in his remarks on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the Inspector General of Police and the command for the support.

He also assured that the money given to them will be spent wisely.
