Tsafe local government council in Zamfara state has distributed three Ambulances, six delivery beds, two emergency Kits, 10 children hospital beds and one blood band.
Council Chairman, Aliyu Abubakar MC, disclosed this at the official commissioning of the renovated the paediatric ward and repair of the only broken generating set for Tsafe hospital by Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari.
Abubukar said the three ambulances were jointly purchased by the Council and MDGs.
He announced the introduction of free medical care for pregnant women and children in the area.
He said the policy was aimed at encouraging pregnant women and children to frequent hospitals in area.
Performing the ceremony, Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari expressed satisfaction and urged council chairmen to focus attention in developmental projects.
Yari, however, observed that Tsafe town, being situated along Zaria-Sokoto highway required befitting medical centre to handle rampant cases of accidents occurring on daily basis.
