Zamfara: AGP poly introduces amnesty programme for non graduated students 

The management of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata Mafara in Zamfara state has introduced an amnesty programme for non-graduated students to complete their studies with ease.

The public relations officer of the Polytechnic, Malam Awwal Ibrahim Dansadau, stated this Tuesday while fielding questions from Blueprint in Gusau.

He said the reintroduction of the programme followed a memo as well as requests from several quarters for another amnesty programme.

He pointed out that the programme could be run during the 2023/2024 academic session. 

Malam Awwal stated that applicants must obtain amnesty programme form at the consultancy services unit of the polytechnic, AGP Talata Mafara.

“Applicants are required to fill in his/her name, course, reg. no., Dept. and initial year of entry in the appropriate sections and take same to the relevant dept where the HOD will confirm the information as well as the authenticity of the student.

“The HOD will enter all failed/outstanding courses according to levels and semesters then sign the form,” Malam Awwal stated. 

He said only students that left the institution as a result of misconduct/gross misconduct are not eligible for the amnesty.

“Students having course(s) in both 1st and 2nd semesters must make full payments of both while students with only one semester could make half payment, all amnesty students must also register with their respective department as current students,” he stated. 

He pointed out that both full and part-time amnesty students must attend all lectures, continuous assessments, and end of semester exams together with regular and part-time colleagues respectively.
