The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) a World Bank assisted project in collaboration with Zamfara state ministry of education science and technology has sensitized communities of Bakura and Maradun local government areas on girl child enrollment program .
The sensitization was held at Agwaragi government Secondary school in Talata Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government.
Addressing the participants, the facilitator of AGILE enrollment drive campaign in charge of Bakura Maradun local government areas, Alh. Mainasara Moyi Kaura Namoda, explained that the aim of the campaign is to enlightened the general public on the significance of enrolling their child particularly girls to acquire basic education.
According to him, the target students under the program were from JSS1 to SS1.
He said each girl will be given a cash grant of N60,000 every term under the programme, noting that emphasis was given to less privileged girls mainly at grassroot areas in the state.
He further hinted that the disbursement of N60,000, girls enrollment cash grant has already commenced by the AGILE project across 14 LGAs in the state.
He further pointed out that under the program, Uniform, writing materials and other learning facilities will be given free of charge to each girl.
Mainasara noted that already the enrollment screening exercises commenced in all the junior and senior public secondary schools in the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the District Head of Gamji under Bakura Emirate, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, commended Zamfara state government and world bank for introducing of AGILE project to develop education system in the state.
