Yuletide: APC women leader distributes wrappers, foodstuffs to 300 women

The Women Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC) Kaduna state chapter, Hajiya Maryam Suleiman has shared cash, various food items, wrappers and slaughtered three cows for 300 less privileged women in the state.

Maryam, fondly called Mairusau by her admirers, said slaughtering the cattle and sharing the whole meat to the poor who could not afford to buy meat for the Christmas celebration, is a way of putting smiles on faces of the needy.

She noted that the items distributed to the vulnerable women would go a long way in giving the poor a sense of belonging during the Christmas celebration marked by Christian faithful with preparing good dishes with assorted meat and dressing in new clothes.

Hajiya Suleiman while assuring the less privileged women and widows of her continuous support, paid glowing tributes to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state, describing him as a leader with the interest of people at heart.

“I am inspired to extend the hand of generosity to the poor by Governor Uba Sani who always preaches the act of remembering the less privileged in the society so they too would be happy.

”We all know how times are hard and prices of essential commodities have kept skyrocketing which would make it difficult for most people to happily celebrate this year’s Christmas with pageantry. It is in this spirit of trying to put smiles on faces of the needy, that I have decided once more to remember the less privileged people around me, particularly widows who have lost their breadwinners, so they too would be happy in this festive season.

”I will use this opportunity to call on the rich and financially privileged members of the society to be generous to the poor people around them so the world would be a happy place to live in,” she said.

The beneficiaries represented by Mrs Rufkatu Yakubu and Grace Andrew expressed their appreciation to the APC women leader for her gestures and support, noting that it came at the right time, as the Christmas was already looking bleak but with the food items, cash and meat she gave to them, they would be able to enjoy the yuletide season with their children.
