Yuletide: Anambra government assures returnees of safety, joyous celebrations

The Anambra state Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji, has reassured residents and returnees of a joyous and peaceful Christmas and New Year festivities.

Onyenji, who stated this at 2024 Christmas Carols of lessons and praises hosted by the ministry in Awka, Friday, explained that lots of activities have already been lined up by people and government throughout the Yuletide.

According to him, Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration has provided the infrastructural development, security and other enablement which would provide the residents and returnees with opportunities to merry.

He, therefore, urged the Anambra populace within and outside to be at liberty to return home to celebrate with their kits and kins, while bringing home their friends and investments for uplifting the State.

The commissioner expressed confidence that the ongoing Solution amusement parks, including existing private and public lesisure, events and tourism centres in the State would be bubbling throughout the period of festivities.

Blueprint reports that the event which featured hymns rendention, Christmas carols of nine lessons and others, was attended by the State Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, other government top functionaries, as religious leaders including the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Moses Ezedebego, among others.
