Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state yesterday said the out-going state Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Mohammed Ladan, greatly assisted him in fulfilling the covenant he entered into with God to protect lives and property of Bauchi indigenes.
Speaking at the send-off dinner organised by the security agencies in honour of the out-gong CP who retired on Wednesday held at police Officers Mess in Bauchi, Yuguda said: “I lack words to appreciate my gratitude to Ladan for making his job of protecting lives and protect of the people of Bauchi whom God has placed on my custody easier for me.”

“I am the greater beneficiary of Ladan’s commitment to duty because his commitment to duty made my job of protecting lives and property of people of Bauchi state easier which was the covenant I entered with my God. I’m short of words to appreciate him for making it possible for me to fulfill my covenant with God.”

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Mr. Mohammed Jiya Gana Bauchi, described Ladan as “a trusted, gallant, disciplined, team leader, loyal, dedicated, loyal and committed officer.”

The acting Commissioner, Mr. Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, assured the people of safety, saying he was prepared well enough to step into the shoes of boss.
However, the Commander of Mobile Police and Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chris Eza, and Haruna Mohammed, respectively, said the out-going CP and the incumbent had been working together and that new CP “is an experienced police officer who has the expertise to sustain and even improve the security situation of the state.”
Responding, Ladan said “I crave the indulgence of each and every officer whom I have offended in one way or the other in the course of discharging my duties to forgive me.”
