Yuguda commended over 818 km roads

Bauchi state Governor, Isa Yuguda, has been commended for the construction of about 818-kilometrer roads in parts of the state since he assumed office as governor “despite the financial predicament faced by the government.”

A renowned politician, Alhaji Danladi O.C Kwano, gave the commendation yesterday while addressing newsmen in Bauchi.
He claimed that the “present administration in the state will be remembered by posterity for the construction of the roads which previous governments were unable to build due to fear of the huge expenses involved.

According to him, the roads which people have been clamouring for since during the military era, but to no avail until the inception of the Yuguda-led administration included Alkaleri-Futuk, Ningi-Burra,Azare-Isawa, Rahama-Rishi and Misau-Giade roads.
Others he said were Gamawa-Zaki, Alkaleri-Gwaram, Yuguda-Ilelah, Miya-Soro, Alagarno, Jakusko and several other township roads estimated at about 818 kilometres.

Kwano opined that with the construction of the new roads, the transportation hardship faced by the travelers had come to an end even as he said commercial activities “will now be revamped in the areas.”

He said: “The dividend of democracy the electorates demand is for the government to provide social amenities and infrastructure that can alleviate their sufferings as well as touch the lives of all. For over 40 years, the people have been yearning for the construction of roads in those areas I have earlier enumerated, but to no avail until the coming of this government.”
