YSFON U-15: Ondo wallop Ekiti 8-0 in Bauchi

Ondo state U-15 Tuesday at the on-going Youth Sports Federation (YSFON) 3rd Edition of the Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed U-15 Soccer tournament in Bauchi walloped their brothers, Ekiti state by 8-0 to signal their readiness to cart home the coveted trophy.

Two players Adebayo Wasiu and Saliu Majid of Methodist High School, Owo led the demolition exercise for the Owena state.

The duo showcased extraordinary skill and determination, with petite Saliu Majid stealing the show. His dazzling footwork and tactical brilliance left spectators in awe and earned him the Man of the Match award as standout player according to scouts and analysts present.

The Ondo boys wasted no time establishing dominance, netting four unanswered goals in the first half. They returned after the break with relentless intensity, adding another four goals to seal their emphatic win, while Ekiti struggled to contain the blistering speed of their illustrious brother.

Speaking after the match, Majid expressed his excitement but remained focused. “The match is behind us now. Our eyes are on the next game, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got to secure another win,” he said.

His teammate, Adebayo Wasiu, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the team’s collective hunger for success. “We’re not dwelling on this victory; we’re preparing for our next challenge. Our goal is to bring the trophy home,” he stated confidently.

Ondo Coach, Bayo Taiwo commended his team’s exceptional performance, attributing the victory to hard work and discipline. “I’m proud of the boys, but this is just the beginning. Our ultimate goal is to bring the trophy to Ondo State, and we’ll keep pushing until we achieve that,” he affirmed.

The Ondo State team now looks ahead to their next match against FCT, with hopes of maintaining their winning streak and inching closer to the tournament ultimate prize.
