YSFON U-15: Ondo pip FCT, zoom to quarter-final

Ondo State’s Under-15 soccer team advanced to the quarterfinals of the ongoing YSFON National U-15 Soccer Tournament in Bauchi on Wednesday,

Ondo state secured  a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FCT in an explosive encounter that put spectators at the edge of their seats.

The match, which kicked off at 9:38 a.m., two hours ahead of schedule, began with both teams showing determination. Abuja struck first, scoring an early goal in the first half, a move that unsettled the Ondo team’s bench.

“I was shivering; I developed high fever. The cloud over me became dark. I wasn’t myself after Abuja’s early strike,” confessed an official from the Ondo camp.

However, buoyed by tactical adjustments and motivational instructions from their coach, the Ondo boys rallied to turn the tide. They netted two goals, overturning the deficit and securing their spot in the quarterfinals.

Star players Adebayo Wasiu and Saliu Majid were tactically rested to preserve them for the next match and minimize injury risks.

With confidence and momentum on their side, the Ondo team is setting their sights on a semifinal berth, eager to continue their march toward tournament glory.
