Global West African Youths (GLOWAY) has condemned alleged moves by some politician in Nigeria campaigning for interim national government.
In a communiqué made available to newsmen by the Global President of GLOWAY, Baruga Abdullahi Ibrahim, at the end of its 22nd executive meeting held in Kaduna state recently, they explained that the youth were not ready to condone any attempt to impose an interim government as being speculated in Nigeria, adding that May 29 handover date must be sacrosanct.

The communiqué commended President Goodluk Jonathan for emphasising that Nigerian constitution does not recognise an interim government and assured the European Union observer groups and ECOWAS President of his resolve to ensure that May 29 handover date still stand.
The youth further lauded the ECOWAS President for meeting with the major Presidential candidates in Nigeria to intimate them on the recommendations on the commission’s findings toward peaceful conduct of elections.

They, however, called on ECOWAS to extend a similar gesture to Togo, adding that ECOWAS should act beyond capabilities of mere observers; they needed to take responsibility by calling a spade a spade in the forthcoming elections across West Africa.
Gloway also called on EU to lift all sanctions and travel ban against President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, saying that as long as the AU chairman remains under sanction, our relations would remain poisoned and unproductive with EU and the West.
