You ‘ve a burden to reposition our country, Dantata tells Nigerian leaders

Renowned Kano based business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has called on leaders irrespective of positions of authority, to rise up to the challenge of repositioning the nation on a promising and sound pedestal.

Speaking shortly after the official coronation of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Dantata said with Nigeria’s potentialities and exceptional treasures, if those calling the shots live up to expectations.

He said the introduction of the presidential system of government has had a negative effect on the nation’s quest for supremacy and perfection in the business of governance and leadership adding that the British parliamentary system of government is less-costlier compared to the presidential system of government.

He said: “I want you leaders to take into cognisance the fact that you are the ones to right the wrongs committed under your leadership for Nigeria to prosper in all spheres of human interest. For our nascent democratic system in the country to answer its name, the adoption of parliamentary system of government, is the way out of the present mess.

“As leaders of today, you are the ones to be held responsible for the rot we are grappling with. You are the ones to set agenda, a credible agenda so to speak, for the younger generation to forge ahead. As I am reaching 100 years of my sojourn on earth, I have no inkling of fear on the views I am expressing for those in positions of authority to hear me.

” I am only waiting for my death and to be confined to my grave. I have fulfilled my mission in life and achieved my burning ambition in life. What remained of people of my ilk, is to offer constructive advice to policy makers in government to chart a good course for the nation,” he stated.
