The executive chairman of Fune Local Government Area of Yobe state, Alhaji Baba Goni Mustapha Bade, has said the current Yobe state under Mai Mala Buni has fared well especially with the provision of democracy dividends.
He was speaking recently in Abuja while interacting with some journalists.
“Since assumption of His Excellency Mai Mala Buni in 2019, a lot have been achieved through the mission & vision statement of the progressive leadership in the area of people-oriented programmes such as empowerment programmes for the less previlleged ones, orphanage centres, youth employment that cuts across the local government areas.
“Others are accessablity to quality health facilities in both the township urban & sub urban areas with Fune in particular and other area council & the other 17 area councils under the Renewal Hope agenda.
“It is also on record about the provision of quality education facilities at the primary and secondary school levels for the children in order to compete with others, the provision of quality and portable water supply through constant repairs and maintenance of boreholes in all district heads and villages in Fune Area Council,” he said.
According to him, securing the lives and property of the people has been a major priority of the administration with regular meeting with head of securities agencies in the council and stakeholders like district heads, wards heads, religious leaders and community leaders.
While advising the youths to shun violence, he said, “My advice to the youth is that they should respect the elders in their communities; as future leaders, they should say bye to hard drugs and take advantage of the empowerment programmes of the administration and take their studies seriously. “To the council staff, accountability and dedication to work is key to elevation as no truancy would be allowed.”
On the extent of development in the North-east, he said, “We are grateful for the establishment of the North East Development Commission by former President Muhammad Buhari in which progress were recorded and like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more development projects to come to our area through the commission.”
