Yobe state Office of the Head of Civil Service has organised a one-day meeting with all the state directors and heads of departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
Presiding over the meeting at the local government multiple purpose hall in Damaturu, the head of civil service, Alhaji Garba Bilal, said civil service is the main instrument through which government implements and administers public policies and programmes.
He noted that civil servants have prominent roles to play in service delivery, adding that there is no way the civil service would move without contributions.
“The gathering is for important personalities. As directors in your respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies and heads of departments in the various MDAs, you have a great role to play in moving the civil service forward,” said Bilal.
He added that the development achieved in many countries of the world has been due to the ability of their civil service to effectively translate the policies of their political leaders into concrete services.
He called on the state senior civil servants at the meeting to contribute by putting in their best towards moving the state forward.
