Yobe school massacre: Emergency rule has failed –Muslim group

Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria on Wednesday called on the federal government to deploy more security personnel to unity schools in Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, Adamawa and Gombe states to curb attack on innocent students.

The group noted that measures adopted in tackling the problem of insurgency arising from insecurity appeared to have defied solution despite the state of emergency declared by the federal government.

Its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the call in a statement in IIorin.
The statement said: “As a Unity School, several innocent parents from different states in Nigeria have been thrown into ‘state of mourning’ following the killing of their innocent children. Some evil-minded people are waging senseless war on peace-loving Nigerians.”

The group sympathised with relations of victims of those affected all over the country since insurgency began in 2009.
It called on federal and state governments to govern with fear of Allah by using the financial resources at their disposal to better the lots of the less privileged.

The group similarly advised the government to improve on infrastructure, engage unemployed youths in profitable ventures, and protect lives and property in order to stem the tide of insecurity “once and for all.”
