Yobe opens tender bids to develop solid minerals sector

In a efforts to produce a comprehensive road map to develop the solid minerals sector in the state,Yobe state government through the ministry of commerce, industry,tourism and solid minerals has opened tender bids for consultancy service in respect of production of the road map in the state.

Speaking during the tender bids opening in Damaturu,the Commissioner ministry of commerce,Alhaji Kaigama Umar said,inline with the procurement act the tender was advertised in two national dailies commencing from 3rd January 2025.

He stated that,five companies indicated their interest for the bids and all of them responded which includes;Ahila technology LTD,I focus consultant LTD,Dotnet technologies LTD,pathing-ways mapping LTD, and MaxlockNig and partners LTD respectively.

Gaigama revealed that,Yobe is a home to solid minerals and we all know most of the northern states depend on the federation account allocation which is grossery inadequate to achieve desired goals of the state.

“We must lock for ways and means of generating our local resources to complement what we are getting from federation account”said the commerce Commissioner.

He further noted that,the ministry will submit the bids documents to technical sessions to critically look at it, analyse, and send it to bereau on public procurement for final betting.

Mr Joel Duku from Maxlock Nig and partners company on behalf of the other companies applied for the tender appreciated Yobe state government for abiding the procurement act adding that it’s a process that has been adopted for best practices all over the world.

“The state government and the commerce ministry is following the practice,this is something very commendable”,said Mr Duku.
