The Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, has donated 30 patrol
vehicles and office accommodation to the special squad of the Nigeria
police and other security agencies worth N720 million in Damaturu
the Yobe state capital.

Buni said the effort was too strengthen the newly established Haba
Maza special squad to curb the security challenges in the state.

“To achieve the overall objective of ensuring peace and security
across the state, the Yobe state government will today provide a total
of 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles procured at the cost of N720 million to
the Nigerian police and other security agencies.
“Many of you would recall that over the last seven years, the state
government has procured and donated over 400 vehicles as logistics
support to the Nigerian Army, Nigerian police, and other security
agencies.  The 17 local government councils in the state have also
been very helpful to them on a regular basis,” he said.

The governor, therefore, called on the police and other security agents to work hard and not allow any breathing space to criminals anywhere in the state.

Receiving the keys to the vehicles and the office accommodation, the
Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu urged other governors to
emulate the Yobe state governor.
