Yero will run in 2015 to consolidate gains – Bajoga

Kaduna state deputy governor, Nuhu Audu Bajoga, yesterday debunked insinuation that his boss, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, would not run in the 2015 election.
The deputy governor, who was on tour in the state said the governor, had agreed to run in order to consolidate gains achieved by the administration.

At the palace of Chief of Kagoro, Chief Ufuwai Bonet, Bajoga said: “The purchase of the forms by Governor Yero last Saturday has finally put paid to speculations making the rounds that the governor was not going to contest for the governorship of the state 2015. The short notice visit to the traditional rulers is to officially inform and to also alert you on the need to disregard falsehood being spread by detractors.

“I am here personally to officially inform you that Governor Muhktar Ramalan Yero will contest the 2015 governorship election. I personally accompanied him first to the state party office and later to the PDP headquarters in Abuja last Saturday where he picked the expression of interest and nomination forms. So, do not believe those spreading rumour to the contrary.”

He added: “It is imperative for the traditional rulers to hear the story firsthand from government because of the revered position they occupy in the society. We commend you restoration of peace and harmony in the state and urged you to continue to support the government in the quest for development.”
The chiefdoms and emirates visited included Moroa, Kagoro, Jemaa, Jaba and Ikulu all in Kaura, Jema’a, Jaba and Zangon Kataf local government areas of the state.
The deputy governor is expected to continue with the tour this morning in the area as part of the move to canvass support for Yero’s 2015 bid.
