Xmas: Okorocha dolles out N20m, doubles salaries to civil

Governor Roachas Okorocha of Imo state has graciously released the sum of N20 million to each of the 27 local government areas of Imo state to rehabilitate some major roads within the areas.
He also gave approval to pay civil servants two months’ salaries this Christmas period to enable them enjoy it to the fullest.
The information was given by the Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Public Utilities, Engr. Obinna Nshirim, while briefing newsmen.
He said the governor had lined up a lot of programmes for the enjoyment of Imo people such as the Imo Carnival, Opara Imo and Ada Imo Cultural contests which would see the winners going home with N2 million, a car and a trip to South Africa.
Within this period, there would be thanksgiving service in which people would be expected to donate food items, clothing materials and other items they do not use for onward distribution to the poor.
