World title fight: Joshua eager for Wilder’s WBC belt

World heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua is eager to unify all the World heavyweight belts by adding the WBC belt to his three titles.

Joshua holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts and he will put all on the line against the victor of fellow-British, Tyson Fury (The Gypsy King) and America’s Deontay Wilder (The Bronze Bomber) who meet this weekend in a rematch.

Joshua told journalists that he cannot wait to meet the winner has admitted he is almost desperate to take on any of the two.

He said he will apply ‘pressure’ on the Wilder-Fury II winner to finally decide the undisputed world’s No 1.

This has been confirmed by Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who admitted his camp will be in Las Vegas, USA, on Saturday as WBC champion Wilder faces one-time short-term title holder, Fury.

Hearn added that he expects to resume fresh talks for a much awaited unification super-fight that would clear up any debate about the division’s dominant champion.

Hearn told Sky Sports: “Everybody has opinions but it’s impossible to say. My opinion is that Joshua is the best but, until he beats the winner, the world will not be satisfied. We have to put the pressure on the winner to finally get our fight on in 2020″.

Joshua is currently in Sagamu, Ogun state enjoying the ambience of its rural setting and having a feel of his roots.
