World Para Powerlifting express condolences to family of Nwosu

World Para Powerlifting has sent its condolences to the family and friends of Nigeria’s Paralympic champion Ndidi Nwosu, who passed away aged 40.
Nwosu won the gold medal in the women’s up to 73kg category at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.

The Nigerian powerlifter took on the sport in 2004, as a way to improve her health and strength. Nwosu made her international debut in 2015.
She also represented Nigeria at the Mexico City 2017 World Championships taking a bronze medal in the women’s up to 73kg.
One year later, Nwosu won a gold medal in the same category at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
