Woman in court over N200,000 theft

A 50-year-old woman, Mojisola Ololade, was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Mary Awodele of an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun state, over alleged theft of N200,000. Th e Prosecutor, Inspector, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the accused committed the off ences sometime in January 2013, in Osogbo. Abiodun said the accused stole N200,000 from one Samuel Oluponde with the intent to transact business with him. He said the off ences contravened Sections 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Laws of Osun, 2003. Th e accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. Counsel to the accused, Mr Ehierene Ngoke, prayed the magistrate to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms. Th e Magistrate, Mrs Mary Awodele, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in the like sum, adding that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and two passport-sized photographs, attached with an affi davit of means.
