One of the aspirants contesting the chairmanship of All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna state chapter, Mr. Mataimaki Tom Maiyashi, has said that desire to build Nigeria on the principles of social justice, equity, security, better education, as well as quality and responsive governance formed reasons he is aspiring for the position.

Maiyashi said leadership of political party should be held by people with relevant experience, adding that party development in the last decade and a half had degenerated to street hawking in the hands of those he said neither have the understanding nor the capacity to learn from the misfortunes of the past.

The APC chairmanship aspirant revealed these yesterday in Abuja during an interview with select journalists.
Maiyashi said frustration had taken over larger population of Nigerians which he added had forced them not to have iota of trust in present government, stressing that the formation of APC had stated in clear terms that it would bring about fundamental change in the culture of politics.
He said: “To achieve these aims, political parties must become platforms for the generation of ideas and serious discussions on issues of development and charting better quality of life for the people, while enforcing party discipline to ensure delivery of promises made to the electorate.”
“I am by this conviction, seeking your kind support and comradeship to serve if given the opportunity as state chairmanship. I shall count on your support.”
