The Delta state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Wednesday, said the present administration has made considerable strides in strengthening the health system and improving maternal and child health indicators in the state.
The commissioner stated this in Asaba, the state capital at the launch of Delta State Maternal, Perinatal Mortality and Child Death Surveillance and response MPCDSR) report.
Dr. Onojaeme said the reason was that the state government had made available quality health care facilities which would be accessible and affordable to all pregnant women in the state.
He noted that the launch was meant not only to present data but also to amplify the story behind the number of women and new born who lost their lives, even though the death would have been prevented.
