We’ve put our house in order—Ondo APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ondo state chapter has said that it has put its house in order to ensure it secures a landslide victory in the March 9  House of Assembly poll in the state.

The state chairman of the party, Mr Ade Adetimehin, who said this Tuesday while addressing the APC ward chairmen across the state, described the party’s performance in the last presidential and national assembly elections in the state as a bitter experience.

In the February 23 elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored higher than the ruling APC in the state, winning in 11 out of the 18 local governments, according to the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Adetimehin said the party had since learnt its lessons in a bitter way, and should do all that was possible to win subsequent elections.

He advised the leaders to buckle up “and go the extra mile to ensure victory in the state assembly elections, come Saturday,”

“We are here to discuss as a political party that is well structured, on how to win convincingly in the next election.

“We must strive to convince our observers that what transpired during the presidential and national assembly elections was as a result of human errors.

“It should, therefore, should not be used to gauge our voting strength in Ondo State,” Adetimehin said.

Responding on behalf of the chairmen, Mr Honey Gbayisemore, the party chairman in Ugbo ward, called for better understanding between the party and the state government.

Gbayisemore said that the ward chairmen would do their best to ensure victory for the party during the election on Saturday. (NAN)
