Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state Tuesday said his administration has invested over N8.4 billion in the past four years to support more than 12,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.
It is part of ongoing efforts to combat poverty and empower entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth.
Speaking as the special guest of honour at the 2025 Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI) programme held at Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive economic development through targeted interventions.
The MESI programme, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), is a flagship initiative under the THEMES+ agenda designed to promote self-reliance and job creation through the development of micro-enterprises.
Addressing a packed audience that included policymakers, beneficiaries, and community leaders, the governor celebrated the latest batch of 1,700 new beneficiaries, describing them as “dedicated men and women who embody the future of the state’s economy.”
