We’re being persecuted in Kogi, Fulani community cries out

Fulani community in Kabba local government area of Kogi state has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in a case of “injustice and unwarranted killings” meted to a family member and others living in the state. According to one of the affected members, who spoke under anonymity, the community are subjected to all manner of untold hardship, pain and loss of lives in the hand of vigilante groups in the area.
The source said his two children, Abubakr Ruwa and Aliyu Muduha and 19 other Fulani members “were arrested by the groups and kept in custody for two week before a directive came from Yusuf Bello, brother to Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, who ordered that those arrested should be killed without any reason. “When my children and other Fulani men were killed, we followed the case and they were arrested by the Kogi state CID and later transferred to SARs in Abuja.
“We the Fulanis in Kogi state are seeking for justice by calling on our dear President and the Inspector General of Police to investigate these killings and bring the killers to book,” the source said. Th e Fulani also called on the relevant security agencies, the Nigerian lawyers, human right groups and international organizations to wade into the matter.
