A representative of the third tier of government at the ongoing national conference, Barr Nasiru Ibrahim Junji has said that the dichotomy between the North and the South on the voting debacle was as a result of President Jonathan’s injunction to the delegates to ensure that the conference reached consensus on all issues.
Barr Junji said the President’s inaugural speech was patriotic and meant well for the country noting that the injunction implied that their resolutions should be in the interest of all Nigerians.
Barr Junji maintained that any issue where the conference failed to reach consensus should be jettisoned, saying that the president wanted the conference to work together instead of pursuing selfish agenda of individuals or groups.
According to Junji, Nigerians should forget the issue of religion, ethnicity and other issues that divide the country in order to live together, saying that countries like Malaysia, South Korea amongst others have made tremendous progress in their quest for development.
